What You'll Do... As the Senior Inside Sales Manager for American Pest, you'll oversee and lead the activities of the Residential Sales Department. You'll develop performance standards, measurements, and corrective devices. You'll offer your expertise to the Sales Managers while they conduct initial and ongoing training of the sales team. You'll oversee evaluations, coaching, and side-by-side development. As you know, sales is a numbers game so you'll also hold the team accountable to KPI performance and report those numbers to the leadership team. No training program is static of course so you'll always keep an eye out for gaps and recommend skill-gap training solutions to help meet business needs and goals.

Who You Are... So, what does it take to be a successful Senior Inside Sales Manager at American Pest? For starters, you'll have at least 2 years of experience in managing or supervising a sales team. You'll also have...

  • A high school diploma or greater
  • A minimum 1 year working with a web-based customer database or CRM (PestPac preferred)
  • Experience reading, analyzing, and interpreting business data/reports
  • The ability to perform business mathematics
  • The ability to coach and support direct reports via sales initiatives and training
  • The ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals
  • The ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from leaders, representatives, and customers
  • The ability to lead, develop, and inspire a team to hone their craft to ensure that a high professional standard is achieved, and monthly targets are met
  • A track record of increasing an organization's efficiency, employee engagement, and customer satisfaction by leveraging call center technologies and process enhancements
  • A highly motivated personality, serious about self-development in the leadership & call center arena, and a strong work ethic
  • The ability to effectively manage your time, prioritizing multiple tasks, maximizing performance while remaining customer-focused
  • The ability to understand customers' needs, handle objections, and close business
  • A knack for outside-the-box thinking and a love of problem solving & creativity
  • The ability to learn and retain complex pest control industry knowledge (i.e. general pest information, treatment methods, service protocols, etc.) through company provided online, field, and classroom training
  • A strong understanding of the Microsoft Office suite
  • The ability to read, write, speak, and comprehend English
  • The ability to read and interpret documents such as contracts, safety regulations, operating & maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
  • Legal eligibility to work in the U.S.

Our Hiring Process... Knowing what to expect when job hunting is always a welcome relief. Our process for this position includes the following steps:

  2. Complete pre-employment assessments and a phone interview
  3. Schedule an interview and complete our applicant survey
  4. Interview in person at one of our three office locations in Fulton MD, Fairfax VA, Richmond VA, or Charlottesville VA (travel expenses covered for applicants outside our metro area)
  5. Emailed offer letter, which is contingent on steps 6 and 7, tentative start date set
  6. Criminal background check and drug screening
  7. Reference checks
  8. Official start date confirmed

Upon successful completion of training, pest technicians will receive their own company vehicle with gas card for all work-related driving. Technicians will also be scheduled routes in accordance to their location of residence to reduce drive time and be as efficient as possible. American Pest is a virtually paperless company - our technicians do not need to constantly drive to and from the office.
