Human Resources Assistant - Part-Time

If you're a stay at home parent looking for part-time HR position to stay sharp in your field and bring in some extra income or a college grad student with HR experience looking for a part-time job while in school to make some money and gain more real world HR experience, or even a lottery winner who isn't looking to get entirely out of the HR workforce quite yet, American Pest has an opportunity for you! We are currently looking for a part-time Human Resources Assistant.

This role would be approximately 20-25 hours a week. That could be 9-5 Mon/Wed/Fri or 9-1 every day of the week, whatever would be best with your schedule!

What You'll Do...

As our part-time HR Assistant, you'll help in basic day-to-day tasks within the department as well as more big picture project work. That generally includes...

  • Assisting in onboarding/offboarding
    • Working in ADP
    • Assembling hew hire packets
    • Managing new hire & termination checklists in Asana
    • Completing & submitting payroll action notices (PAN's) for new hires and terminated employees
    • Terminating employees through ADP
  • Full benefits administration
  • Drafting/completing employment verifications
  • Drafting garnishment responses
  • Tracking tickets and other violations
  • Assisting with various HR projects including...
    • Mergers & Acquisitions audit and clean-up
    • I9 administration
    • Employee file reorganization
    • Scanning old documents
    • Various audits
  • Other tasks as assigned

Who You Are...

So, what type of person will be successful in this role? For starters, you'll enjoy working as part of a team in a fast-paced environment. You'll also have...

  • Bachelors degree in Human Resource Management, Business, or a related field
  • At least 2 years of experience in Human Resources
  • Knowledge of payroll software and the Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel and Word
  • Experience with ADP preferred
  • The ability to read, write, speak, and comprehend English
  • Good oral and written communication skills
  • Solid attention to detail
  • Legal eligibility to work in the U.S
  • The ability to pass a pre-employment drug test, physical, and full background check
