HR Administrator - Human Resources Assistant - Fulton, MD

The Overview:

American Pest is hiring an HR Administrator to oversee and own all employee benefits programs including: health and welfare, 401(k) and compliance programs. Compliance programs include I-9, Vets-100 and EEO-1. In addition you will be responsible for recruiting & hiring & entering all new hire inputs into our ADP HRIS system. Job Requirements:

• Staffing- Participates in recruitment efforts for hourly & salaried personnel. Screens applications and conducts interviews for hourly employees. Coordinates candidate interviews with upper management. Coordinates pre-employment drug screening, background screening and physical fitness tests. Conducts reference checks. Sends offer letters to applicants as required.

• Conducts new hire orientations.

• Administers and maintains company benefits programs. Functions as a liaison between vendors and employees and advises employees on eligibility, coverage, and other benefits matters. Compiles and maintains benefits records and documents.

• Designs, plans, and implements corporate wellness programs, policies, and procedures. Responsible for ensuring programs meet employee needs, comply with legal requirements, and are cost effective.

• Administers corporate benefits plans and programs. Monitors benefits trends in the business environment and must stay abreast of applicable benefits legislation.

• Administers benefits on-boarding process with new hires. Enrolls new hires through the medical vendor websites around vendor feeds. Scans new and updated documentation to share drive.

• Responds to benefit inquiries regarding coverage, vendors, and the best way to contact the insurer in the event of a claim.

• Assists employees with processing 401K enrollment, changes and/or updates regarding insurance.

• HRIS data entry including payroll feeds and auditing vendor feeds (also called Carrier Connection).

• Maintains vendor contacts in assisting employees with information.

• Annual EEO-1 filing compliance.

• I-9 compliance.

• VETS-100 compliance.

• Implements educational webinars on variety of relevant subjects for employees.

• Responsible for answering email and phone inquiries from employees and vendors.

• COBRA administration and liaison with COBRA vendor.

Preferred Skills:

• Bachelor's Degree preferred.

• 3-7 years administering benefit programs, maintaining vendor relationships, and implementation of new programs and working with an HRIS system- ADP is ideal.

• PHR or SPHR preferred.

• Strong interpersonal skills.

• Strong computer skills in MS Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Applicant tracking software & job postings and the ability to learn new computer applications quickly.

• Knowledge of state (MD, VA, PA, and DC) and federal employment law.

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including experience speaking in front of small-to-medium sized groups.
