Bird Exclusion Technician - Part-Time

American Pest is offering a unique, part-time opportunity to join our team as a Bird Exclusion Technician. This position would all you to make a good deal of money in you spare time, most often after normal business hours (10 p.m. to 6 a.m.), approximately 10-15 hours per week. In this role, you would be charged with removing (hunting) birds from customer locations on an as-needed basis. While much of the work is in the evening, some daytime hours may be required. This is the perfect opportunity for a military veteran, a retired police officer, or just someone looking to make some extra money who has experience with hunting/firearms!

What You'll Do... As a Bird Exclusion Tech with American Pest, you'll earn around $125/job with mileage paid over 70 miles from your home (extra pay for additional birds removed). 90% of the work is in the evening, after normal business hours and most often in commercial locations - hunting a bird in a large retail store after hours for example. When you're on site, you'll track down and remove the bird(s) with a company supplied high-velocity pellet gun. In busy times (Spring/Summer) a top performer can earn $1500-$2000 per twice-monthly check! If the first hunt is unsuccessful, you'll only be paid $25 for a return trip.

Who You Are... So, what does it take to be a successful technician at American Pest? For starters, you'll be knowledgeable of and experienced with using firearms. As accuracy is vital in this position, a trained individual with at least one-year prior experience as a marksman is required. You'll also have...

• The ability to safely move about customer locations, ascend/descend stairs and ladders to service out of the way areas, and position self to conduct service under/around furniture, equipment, and tight spaces
• The ability to safely move items and equipment weighing up to 50 pounds
• Technical proficiency with computers, smart phones, etc.
• A valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record
• The ability to read, write, speak, and comprehend English
• Good oral and written communication skills
• Solid attention to detail
• Legal eligibility to work in the U.S.
• Availability to be on call to work a flexible, after-hours schedule
• Availability to work some weekends
• High school degree or equivalent
